Shirts4aCure.com was founded close to a year ago by two guys, Matt and Brandon. The only thing they had in common at the time was passion for a nationwide event called Relay For Life by the American Cancer Society..

T-Shirt Designer | Matt DeLance 22 of Grayslake, IL first became involved with the American Cancer Society in January of 2001 when his dad was diagnosed with Astrotycoma, a cancerous brain tumor. From there, Matt joined his local American Cancer Society's Relay For Life as a team captain. Raising over $3,000 his first year - Matt was asked to join the planning committee. As of then, things snowballed and soon he was chairing events.

When Matt headed off to college, he took over the Presidency of Colleges Against Cancer at Northern Illinois University. Having attended several youth conferences, plenty of Relay For Life events, and the American Cancer Society's Celebration on the Hill events - Matt has been living and breathing the American Cancer Society. In 2006, Matt got his first dose of staffing a Relay For Life event when he interned with the Fox Valley Illinois office.

On February 18th, 2003 - just 3 days before Matt would turn 18 - he lost his father to cancer. When asked why people should Relay, Matt responds, "Wouldn't it be worth Relaying if you knew you would be putting one more father in the seats to see their son gradauate high school, or one more father in the pew to see their oldest son get married, or if you could just keep one kid from having to spend his 18th birthday laying his father to rest. Please join us at Relay For Life, people are counting on you.."

Website Designer / WebMaster | Brandon Beasley 18 of Smithfield, NC - now living in Raleigh, NC - was first introduced to the American Cancer Society's Relay For Life at a very young age. Growing up, his grandparents stayed active with the Relay For Life event contributing their time to friends and family who had battled cancer. Every year they took Brandon along to enjoy the overwhelming night of hope. Even as Brandon began his early teenage years, he still made extra efforts to attend every Relay For Life event - year after year.

In 2002, Brandons grandfather was diagnosed with Pancreatic cancer. His grandfather was 57 years old when diagnosed. The family gave extensive support and helped to fight the  cancer, but during the summer of 2003, his grandfather lost his hard fought battle at age 58. Following that summer, and since more family and friends being diagnosed with cancer, Brandon has had even more reasons to Relay.

Being an active member of HOSA and a student of Med Sciences I and II, as well as volunteering his time with the American Red Cross, Special Olympics and the American Cancer Society's Relay For Life, Brandon plans to pursue a career in the medical field. Until then, he has no problem dedicating his time to Relay For Life and the American Cancer Society.
